Dr.Y.R.K.Reddy (Yaga Ramesh Konda Reddy), is among international pioneers in capacity building for Corporate Governance across several regions in the world. Foraying into the then-nascent Corporate Governance field in 1997, he has focused notably on public enterprises and finance sectors. He founded Yaga Consulting Pvt. Ltd., in 1996, establised the Academy of Corporate Governance, India as well as The SOE Forum , France.

His professional work spans over 40 countries particularly in corporate governance policy and capacity building (Afghanistan, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iraq, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, St. Kitts, Swaziland, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, Uganda, the UK, the USA, Zambia, Zimbabwe).  His writings include featured Columns, internationally published papers and books, written and edited, published by Wiley Eastern, Tata McGraw-Hill, Vikas Publishing, and Spade Publications.

He has been a resource person, among others, to IFC – Washington/ The World Bank Group, International Corporate Governance Network - London, OECD - Paris, African Development Bank, the Commonwealth Secretariat – London; Asian Development Bank, ILO, Southern African Development Community's DFRC, Joint Africa Initiative, Eastern Caribbean Forum, EU Funding Agencies and a host of government agencies, SOEs, regulators and Corporations. He has been a Peer Reviewer for GCGF/ IFC, rendering critique and suggestions on Corporate Governance codes, scorecards and key documents (including in respect of Maldives, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Romania, Philippines, Azerbaijan, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Malawi, Greece,Jamaica).

He was an non-executive / independent Director for the steel major SAIL, India; Info Tech Enterprises Ltd (Cyient LTD.); Dynam Venture East and Lumley Technology (of Australia) apart from the Indian Institute of Economics. He is on the Advisory Board of Arguden Governance Academy, Istanbul, Transecure Solutions and an Associate of The Boardroom Practice Ltd, Auckland. He has also been connected with the non-profit sector including as International Board member and Treasurer, Aide-et-Action, Paris/Geneva.

He was earlier ONGC-Chair Professor of Strategic Management and Chairman of HR Area at Administrative Staff College of India which he served for over 13 years in two stints; a functional head in internationally invested large firms in manufacturing and banking (corporate-level General Manager / Vice President) in two stints – before taking to independent work in Nov 1996.

He has been a Member of the OECD`s Asian and South African Networks for SOEs. Earlier, he was a Member of the Commonwealth Advisory Group on Corporate Governance in Finance Sector; Member of Advisory Group to the Eastern Caribbean Forum for Corporate Governance; Member of the Commonwealth Expert Review Group relating to corporate governance, contributor to ICGN-London’s yearbook and conferences, contributor to Chartered Secretaries International Association’s Conferences. He has also assisted the Government of India; Government of Andhra Pradesh, RIAB- Government of Kerala, the Planning Commission, the Central Vigilance Commission, and the Reserve Bank of India as a member of committees and/or as an advisor/consultant at different points.

He has Masters degrees specializing in Personnel Management from Andhra University; Masters (with an elective in Finance) from the Leeds University, UK and a PhD on econometric Analysis of Strike Activity from Andhra University (with initial work in the UK and Germany).

He was a Research Fellow at Fredreich Ebert Stiftung-Bonn (1979) and Visiting Fellow at the Center for International Studies, London School of Economics (1989).
